Developers Creates Interactive 3D Sandbox Game Called Hamster Planet

An immersive design experience for players who love to build.

Denver, Colorado, United States – June 01, 2016 – Avid Productions has developed Hamster Planet, a 3D sandbox game where players can breed, care for, and interact with their hamsters. Cages, connect tubes, and much more will allow players to design their dream hamster habitat. A Kickstarter campaign has been launched to raise $20,000 by July 27, 2016. The funds received will be used to hire animators, 3D modelers, sound and software engineers to build the constructs of the game.

The game is designed to enable limitless customization with cages, tubes, accessories, and much more. Every game piece can be rotated at 90-degree angles. Players can place accessories such as water bottles, hamster wheels, and log cabinson cage floors and walls within each habitat. Tubes can be easily attached by clicking on the connector piece. A rudimentary user interface was developed to allow players to select habitat pieces and place them in a 3D world.  Cages are placed directly on the ground in a grid system where connector pieces are attached.

An in-game economy will be implemented that allow players to buy and sell habitats, hamsters, and equipment. Hamsters are purchased and placed into their newly designed homes where they must be fed and taken care of. Throughout the course of the game, these pets can be bred to produce more hamsters.
