Unique Tourist Guide of Croatia is 146 pages filled with beautifully written verse and lovely photographs of Croatian scenery and tourist attractions, all presented from the viewpoint of twenty-two excited canines. With lovely illustrations, photographs, maps, and a journey with a different dog to each selected Croatian city, Ignjatic’s perfect poetry is engaging and entertaining and, coupled with the sweeping imagery, captivates the reader with the majestic beauty of Croatia.  The canine tourist guides captivate the reader as they tour them through medieval cites, fortresses, and much more.

Croatia is a beautiful country located in south central Europe along the Mediterranean Sea.  Its beauty and attractions are well captured in this unique guidebook as narrated by several amazing dogs.  These dogs, having been saved from the streets, now share their knowledge and introduce the reader to their cities and counties.  The experienced dog guides relate twenty-one stories about twenty-one different places in Croatia including the cities of Dubrovnik, Zagreb, Split and Plitvice Lakes.  Wonderful photographs showing attractive parts of the cities and regions accompany each tale.  Also every city has its own illustrated map where the highlighted sights are marked.  The thoughts and expressions of the dog guides are uniquely captured in verse and rhyme.

Apart from sharing with the reader all of these Croatian wonders, the dogs share a bit of their lives, dreams and hopes, raising visibility for the need of helping abandoned and stray dogs.  A portion of the proceeds of the book are donated to nineteen various organizations dedicated to protecting animals and listed at the end of the book.  These organizations make the world a better and happier place for everyone.

Unique Tourist Guide of Croatia is a must read for anyone planning to visit Croatia and wondering what sights to see.  Croatia is a small country with a rich historical and cultural heritage as well as many natural beauties to discover.  Animal lovers and anyone interested in the beauty and history of Croatia will also find the book fascinating.  Sanja Ignjatic has created an entertaining and beautiful tourist/reference guide for travelers to Croatia or anyone who wants to learn more about the country’s culture and heritage.
