The International Association of HealthCare Professionals is pleased to welcome Marc D. Shapiro, MD, Neuroradiologist, to their prestigious organization with his upcoming publication in TheLeading Physicians of the World. He is a highly-trained and qualified neuroradioogist with a vast expertise inall facets of his work, including musculoskeletal MRI. Dr. Shapiro has been practicing for over twenty-nine years and is currently serving patients at the Neuro Imaging Winter Park located in Winter Park, Florida. His private office features Central Florida’s only 32 channel 3T open, wide bore MRI and is an international show site for Siemens’ most advanced 3T MRI.
Dr. Shapiro attended the University Of Kentucky College Of Medicine in Lexington, Kentucky. He then completed his internship at the University of South Florida, served his residency at the University of California at Los Angeles and the Mount Sinai Hospital, and underwent a neuroradiology fellowship at Yale University, where he served as Chief of Neuro MRI & ENT Radiology. Dr. Shapiro further received board certification in radiology and neuroradiology from the American Board of radiology. He stays up-to-date in his field through his professional memberships with the American Society of Neuroradiology, the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Roentgen Ray Society.
Dr. Shapiro was selected one of America’s Top Radiologists between 2002 and 2011 and was voted Teacher of the Year by Yale Department of Radiology in 1989 and Teacher of the Year by the University of Central Florida in 2013. Dr. Shapiro has a remarkable career marked by a series of achievements, including having been selected by the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine to teach their MRI fellows, who are already board certified radiologists. He also engages in local, regional, national, and international public speaking, including speaking to medical students at the University of Miami and the University of Central Florida.
Dr. Shapiro feels that he has enjoyed a rewarding, long-standing, and successful career due to his hard work, passion, and love for his work. He is former chief of neuro MRI and ENTI radiology at Yale University School of Medicine and co-editor of the MRI of the head and Neck volume of the Radiologic Clinics of North America. When he is not attending to his patients at his private practice, he enjoys working out, playing tennis, spending time with his dogs, and running.
