Fullerton, California – July 5, 2016 – Happy Fliers is an online course that combines aerial arts with aerial yoga to provide a real mind-body connection for kids.Creator Joyce Chong launched a campaign seeking community support to raise $2,000 by July 29, 2016. Funds received will be used to complete the curriculum.
Chong is a pediatric occupational therapist and owner of an aerial fitness studio in the Los Angeles area. She was inspired to create Happy Fliers while working as a school-based occupational therapist. Thanks to her first-hand experience with aerial fitness movements, she decided to share the benefits, knowledge and her passion with the world.
Happy Fliers was developed to help children become stronger and healthier. The product provides supported active play that awakens the child’s senses through the use of specially designed and manufactured hammocks. These happy hammocks are used for a heightened, yet sometimes challenging, sensory experience.
Aerial fitness and yoga help develop gross and fine motor skills, physical strength, mental endurance, and emotional wellbeing.
The goal of Happy Fliers program is to:
1) Encourage children to become active through play
2) Challenge their bodies while enhancing their sensory awareness
3) Promote healthy coping skills
An online curriculum has been created for parents to introduce this innovative program to their children. The course includes:
• A 120+ pages manual with 40+ moves and exercises (full color with over 350 pictures)
• 40+ videos demonstrating the poses and moves
• How to integrate essential oils and music to make flying more fun and therapeutic!
• Instructions on how to: wash and take care of the hammock / tie the hammock by hand in less than 10 minutes / hammock installation
• And more!
