CARY, NC – 7/8/2016 /EASY NEWSWIRE/ — Three time melanoma survivor and founder of the Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Foundation www.polkadotmama.org launches two ad campaigns. The second set of campaigns “Skin Cancer Sucks” was created by a local 13-year-old stop animation artist using humor:
Each year in the United States, nearly 5 million people are treated for all skin cancers combined. Melanoma is responsible for the most deaths of all skin cancers, with nearly 9,000 people dying from it each year. It is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among people ages 15-29 and the most preventable.
Founded in 2015 by melanoma survivor Tracy Callahan, the Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Foundation is a non-profit organization that funds research, raises awareness and educates the community about melanoma. Since its inception in September of 2015 the PDMMF has raised over $100,000 locally to support its mission. Learn more at polkadotmama.org.
In addition to raising awareness and promoting early detection of melanoma and skin cancer the PDMMF has recently installed the first of its kind, touchless sunscreen dispenser at a local community pool. They are hard at work to install many more of these in the surrounding community.
