Beanstalk Fundraising and Community Relations is making its mark in the Houston community through its work with nonprofit organizations

According to Forbes Magazine, the number of businesses owned by African American women grew 322% since 1997, making black females the fastest growing group of entrepreneurs in the U.S. In Houston, there are over 178,500 women owned businesses and Beanstalk Fundraising and Community Relations is one of them.

Christina Hall Payne, Managing Partner; Courtney Taylor, Partner; and Victory Hardeman, Vice President of Operations are working together for the greater good in the Houston community. The ladies formed Beanstalk Fundraising and Community Relations, a nonprofit consulting firm in Houston, Texas and are making some serious waves.

The group works with small to mid-size nonprofit agencies across the Greater Houston Area. The independent consulting firm offers grant writing, strategic planning, board development, event planning, and community outreach solutions to nonprofit organizations. They have experience in mental and behavioral health, fine arts, youth programming, and housing developments.

The ladies developed the business plan after graduating from Texas Woman’s University with their Executive MBA degrees.  “We decided the time was right. We all worked for a variety of nonprofits, so we had plenty of experience and now the education. It became a perfect marriage.” said Christina Hall- Payne, Managing Partner.

In the last year, the company has planned charity golf tournaments, luncheons and galas, and raised over $2,000,000 in grants for the agencies. They have also expanded their business into the West Texas territory, including El Paso.

Aside from their professional work, each lady is dedicated to serving the community. Christina is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and was selected as a Rising Star by the League of Women Voters this year. Courtney is a board member for the National Black MBA Association-Houston Chapter, a recent graduate of the Houston Black Leadership Institute, and a provisional member at the Junior League of Houston. Victory also serves the community through volunteering on different committees at local area nonprofits.
