Award-Winning Art Director/Designer Robin Hercia Specializes in Design of Logos, Brand Identities and Products for Clients in Wellness, Healing, Yoga, Meditation & Mysticism

LOS ANGELES, CA – 27 July, 2016 – With proper branding and identity for specialty businesses more critical than ever for reaching potential customers/clients, AWMYL Studio Art Director/Graphic Designer Robin Hercia has combined her passion for yoga, meditation and general wellness practices with her award-winning design expertise to provide specialized design services for this growing service industry.  As founder of AWMYL Design Studio in Echo Park, Hercia specializes in graphic, surface, and printed product design, with special emphasis on small businesses and wellness/yoga/meditation/mysticism practices.

A former yoga instructor and guided meditation leader herself, in establishing AMMYL in 2014 Hercia sought creative work for which her deep-rooted personal metaphysical sensibilities would help inform design for this specialized community.  Her unique technique for creating computer-free first, and only then transferring her work to digital, combined with her first-hand knowledge of the wellness business, has allowed for design that captures particularly well what clients within this space are looking for to connect with their customers.

“I came to Robin when I wanted a special set of Elements Cards designed, because of both her background in yoga and meditation and her earthy design sensibility,” said Tony G, co-owner of Yoga at the Raven, located in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles.  “She designed the logo for Yoga at the Raven, which beautifully captures the spirit of our sanctuary, and I knew she could produce a set of cards that would enhance the yoga experience.  The first printing has sold out, and I am very pleased to have chosen Robin and AWMYL Studio to design and execute this product.”

“While I employ the basic elements of design for my wellness clients as for others, everything is created with a totally different vibe for these businesses, who serve clients seeking greater harmony, peace and overall well-being in their lives,” Hercia says.  “My color palette is still varied, yet more muted; typography must evoke the proper response yet still impart key information, and the use of space is especially important in imparting a sense of harmony.”

AWMYL Design Studio, located in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, is an ecologically responsible design studio that creates brand identities and products, including custom fabric and wallpaper design, signage, logo design and other print materials.  Hercia was recently tapped to serve as Art Director for Dev Mason, the first nationally-accredited U.S.-based Immersive Full Stack Web Developer Training Program, where she will oversee all Design and Creative for the school, which will open campuses in five U.S. cities over the next 12-18 months.

As a fine artist, Hercia’s work has been exhibited at QF Gallery, Miami; Copro Gallery, Los Angeles; Converse flagship store, Santa Monica, CA; Dia de Los Muertos at Hollywood Forever, Los Angeles, and Spitz, Los Angeles, among others.

She studied Interior Design at the International Academy of Design and Technology, Toronto, and holds a degree in Textile Design from Sheridan College in Ontario.  In addition, she holds a certificate in Graphic Design from UCLA.  She continues to practice yoga and meditation regularly.
