Los Angeles, California – August 10, 2016 – Professional design and engineering start-up Enomad is launching their innovative portable water-power generator, Estream. The product converts any moving water, such as a river or stream, into stored energy that will charge USB-connected mobile devices. A campaign was created to raise $80,000 by September 11, 2016. Funds received will be used to manufacture and distribute the product to the masses.
Estream provides users with the convenience of bringing their own power plant even while being off the grid. It’s compact and can fit perfectly into any size backpack. The product generates electricity as water flow rotates the attached turbine. As a generator, it produces 2.5W – 5W of energy and will fully charge the built-in 6,400mAh battery in about 4.5 hours, which can charge up to three smartphones, GoPros or even tablet PCs. This rechargeable product will provide continuous charges to devices as long as users have access to running water.
Enomad’s goal is to provide backpackers and hikers the most powerful portable green energy while taking clean and affordable electricity to regions of the world that is needed. Water was chosen as the power source because it’s the most efficient natural energy on Earth. It’s more reliable than solar and more stable than wind. Whether it comes in through the tap or it is collected from a stream, water is present in the daily lives of everyone on the planet. Enomad wishes to expand sustainable energy on a personal level by allowing people to discover and utilize the natural energy resources around them.

Enomad is a team of young, professional designers and engineers that are living in the mobile world. The company was established in May 2014. They launched a public project to introduce themselves to the world and test their design that converted running water into stored energy: Smart Charging Station Project August 2014. They installed three pilot prototypes of their portable hydropower generators into one of Seoul’s most famous rivers and let people charge their smartphones by the energy harnessed from water. Local and global media jumped on the story, and it provided great momentum to verify the market interest and to explore possible designs. After another year of research and development, they finally have a portable water-powered generator ready for the world.
