Youth Organization Seeks IndieGoGo Support To Launch The YoutHab Conference

The world’s first Youth Declaratory for the New Urban Agenda of UN-Habitat III

Quito, Ecuador – August 16, 2016 – Youth organization CLIC launched a campaign seeking community support for their YoutHab Conference. This event is part of the multi-disciplinary youth movement, the YoutHab Project. The program works in a collaborative, participatory, and collective way to address issues such as habitat and right to the city, which is based on the six axes of the New Urban Agenda of UN-Habitat III. The goal is to raise $18,000. Funds received will be used to cover a percentage of the courier fee, food for fifteen youth leaders worldwide, and seed capital grant for the youth leaders’ projects. 

CLIC is a youth organization that works to position climate change on local, national, and regional agendas by encouraging the participation of civil society. With a presence in eleven Latin American countries, the group share skills, knowledge and initiatives dynamically to create a space and platform to empower young people. 

The YoutHab Conference will take place in Quito, Ecuador from October 13-15 of this year, which is a few days before UN-Habitat III Conference. This event will be the world’s first Youth Declaratory regarding the New Urban Agenda. It includes commitments, demands, and the recognition of civil society as participants in the planning of city’s sustainability. Attendees will be provided tools that will help them engage with their local authorities for implementation of projects.
