Games created to raise awareness and fund research

Calgary, Canada – August 18, 2016 – Developer, Doug Dickson, is seeking community support for his mobile game start-up, DBA (Diamond Blackfan Anemia) Strong Games. The company’s mission is to create games that will help build awareness for people of all ages with rare diseases, cancer, and disabilities. A Kickstarter campaign was launched to raise $8,000 CAD by September 4, 2016. Funds received will be used to develop the company’s first game, “Transfusion Jumpers – Jump for a CURE!”

DBA Strong Games is committed to publishing addictive, high-quality games to raise awareness and generate funding for research. Diamond Blackfan Anemia is a rare orphaned blood disorder that affects the red blood cells. People diagnosed with DBA produce little to no red blood cells and require bi-weekly, life-saving, blood transfusions. As someone who’s affected Dickson decided to dedicate his development talents to help an important cause.

“Transfusion Jumpers – Jump for a CURE!” is an endless jumper, one-tap style mobile game developed for both iOS and Android platforms. Players control the game’s hero, “Blood Drop Ninja,” as he moves across the screen jumping collecting red blood cells as “coins” for revives, upgrades, abilities, and much more. The purpose is to prompt users to give blood. Proceeds generated from the game will be donated to support research that will find a cure for DBA.

Please keep in mind this is an “all-or-nothing” deal. If the campaign does not reach the funding goal, then the project cannot move forward. So know that any amount given can make a difference. This is also an incredible opportunity to be a part of a special project! Help the campaign reach its goal by sharing this on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. The more people know about this, the more support the campaign will receive.
