Nationally certified Recovery Coach, James Healy, hosts a new online radio show, Recovery Innovators Radio, which is designed to provide new, innovative and proven strategies for addicts and alcoholics working towards successful long-term sobriety.
Healy’s podcast interviews experts and others in the addiction recovery industry highlighting breakthrough success strategies that work in today’s fast-paced world.
“I know how difficult it can be to access recovery resources and professional help. The goal of this show is to provide valuable insight for alcoholics and addicts in recovery, as well as their friends, family and others who are impacted along the way.
This show is also a terrific way for industry leaders to learn new, powerful skills and effective strategies. It’s also a fantastic opportunity for addiction recovery experts to network with fellow professionals. I’m honored and excited to start this new adventure,” said Healy.
Alternative, holistic treatment styles are gaining mainstream appeal, industry leaders are taking note. The federal government recently passed a bill to help fund new treatment opportunities.
Also, with opioid overdoses rising nationwide—spurred by prescription painkiller and heroin abuse—U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy has taken unprecedented action. Dr. Murthy mailed letters to 2.3 million prescribers nationwide, calling on physicians to harness their “unique power to help end this epidemic.” According to the CDC, 78 Americans die every day from an opioid overdose.
“I think this is one of our greatest public health threats and it’s one that we have to respond to with speed and with urgency,” Murthy told CBS last week. “All of us have had a role to play.”
Mr. Healy’s goal for the Recovery Innovators Radio show is to bring even more attention to this health crisis and help reduce the stigma surrounding the disease of addiction.
Times are changing and addiction to drugs, alcohol and even screens is rampant. Addiction help centers, therapists and coaches are currently swamped with demand.
A recent story in USA Today stated, “In the past five years, efforts to treat the growing number of opioid drug users have kicked into overdrive, with local governments and medical agencies scrambling to mobilize resources.
But they’re not keeping up. Between insurance roadblocks and the high demand for inpatient treatment slots, centers that may offer the best chances for recovery are struggling to cope.”
The growth in demand for addiction recovery knowledge along with access to strategies and services is astonishing, and Recovery Innovators Radio will help service that need.
“As a long-term recovered alcoholic and drug user, I feel compelled to help those who struggle with addiction to find a path to freedom and a life of health and happiness,” Healy concluded.
