As a global leading manufacturer and supplier of antibodies, Creative Diagnostics continues to enable drug and diagnostic development with its newest product, 25-OH Vitamin D3. This newly released product is a matched pair antibody available for 25-OH Vitamin D3-BSA Conjugated, which can be a new useful tool to existing and new customers working in technically challenging areas for their immunology research.
Vitamin D is a group of fat-soluble secosteroids, and the two major physiologically relevant forms of which are vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Vitamin D without a subscript refers to either D2 or D3 or both. Vitamin D3 is produced in the skin of vertebrates after exposure to ultraviolet B light from the sun or artificial sources, and occurs naturally in fish and a few other foods.
Both forms of Vitamin D are metabolized into the 25-OH form in the liver (25-OH Vitamin D2 or 25-OH Vitamin D3). Since Vitamin D2 and Vitamin D3 may both be present in an individual it is imperative to test for Total Vitamin D. In some countries, staple foods such as milk, flour and margarine are artificially fortified with vitamin D, and it is also available as a supplement in pill form. Light-exposed mushrooms may provide up to 100% of the recommended daily value of vitamin D.
“Monoclonal antibodies are of high significance for the drug discovery market,” said Dr. Jessica Waldorf, chief scientific officer of R&D department of Creative Diagnostics. “and that’s why we constantly grow our antibody portfolio by providing quality new product, just like the 25-OH Vitamin D3. With the decades of experiences and our unique technologies, Creative Diagnostics enables scientists to more rapidly detect novel antibodies for a variety of research and pharmaceutical applications.”
