In 2015, tens of thousands of graduates found themselves out of work with many trying to understand why they put themselves through the stress of continued education and debt to be unemployed. A new matching service from Happywork aims to help graduates struggling to find work to find their ideal job.
Happywork, a company that was put together by a team from UCL, provides a service that helps students find a professional job that matches their qualifications and personality. One of the main reasons graduates fail to find their ideal job is due to applying to the wrong type of company and applying for the wrong type of position. With each employer having different requirements it’s important graduates stop wasting their time applying for positions that don’t fit the application process criteria.
A spokesman for Happywork said: “Our matching process is easy to use and helps graduates become more successful when applying for jobs. We can match graduates with professional jobs being offered by companies, bringing the two together to quickly fill vacant positions and avoid long periods of unemployment.”
It was recently reported that a third of working graduates were forced to take low paid jobs within six months of leaving university. Those jobs included cleaning, road sweeping, and office junior jobs. Sixty thousand working graduates in 2015 were working in non-professional jobs such as caring, telesales, and bar work to help pay their student debt and avoid unemployment.
By joining Happywork, the graduate’s profile can be matched up with current jobs available by companies looking for highly-qualified individuals. The service helps people to avoid time-consuming job searches by doing all the leg work on their behalf. Due to its success, the matching service has become one of the most recommended ways for graduates to find their ideal job, and with their success rate, the figures for graduates being out of work in 2017 is expected to be vastly decreased.
