NEW YORK, NY – 9/21/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET) — Eton Institute is a proud finalist in two prestigious categories at the Expatriate Management and Mobility Awards 2016, recognizing excellence of global mobility programs.

Global mobility is a result of businesses taking all necessary steps to operate effectively and profitably at an international scale while facing the current competitive environment (KPMG, 2015). A report by PwC, Managing tomorrow’s people: The future of work to 2020, predicted that the number of mobile employees will increase by approximately 50% by 2020, an impressive growth from the 25% seen during the decade 2000-2010. A recent Learning & Development survey stated that more than 60% of global mobility experts claimed family relocation and local language knowledge to be two of the biggest barriers to global mobility. Despite global mobility being on the rise, implementing its successful management is an important yet often underrated task. Technology has come a long way in easing the process through more flexible tools.

The Forum for Expatriate Management (FEM) annually hosts the Expatriate Management and Mobility Awards (EMMA) to acknowledge the impact of effective mobility programs on companies and their global employees. Eton Institute is humbled and proud to be nominated for the EMMA’s 2016 in the following categories:

  • Best Family Support Program
  • Most Innovative Use of Technology in Global Mobility – Bespoke

“We are delighted to be nominated for the EMMA’s and are extremely grateful to have a team that made it possible. Our aim is to provide new opportunities through language learning and cultural awareness and ensure a positive outcome during their time spent abroad,” commented Alison Johnson, Business Development Director at Eton Institute. “Learning a language and all about local culture can be done in a physical or virtual classroom or even through online courses. We’re delighted to see how positively our content and tools have been received and we are looking forward to supporting many more expatriate individuals, families and corporations, to create a more culturally aware and efficient global workforce,” she added.

The EMMA’s will be presented on the 11th of November at the FEM EMEA Summit in London.
