Dominique Ben Dhaou selected as “Top Professional of the Year in Human Resources” for 2016 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP)!

BEAUMONT, FRANCE – 9/22/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET) — Dominique Ben Dhaou, Senior Vice President Human Resources at SGS, was selected as “Top Professional of the Year in Human Resources” for 2016-2017 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). 

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations and contributions to their communities.  All honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP’s annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements.

With over 25 years of professional experience in Human Resources, Dominique has certainly proved herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field. As a dynamic, results-driven leader, she has demonstrated success by developing high performance teams, rolling out and implementing new Performance Management training programs, workshops and Total Quality Programs.   Dominique has provided visionary leadership in the highly competitive Human Resource Industry and has climbed the ranks through several leadership roles at very high end companies. 

In 1991, Dominique first started in the Human Resource Industry for Levi Strauss & Co.  There she selected and coached new HR Managers in Turkey, South Africa, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland and temporarily assumed the HR Manager Role in Prague and Budapest.  She impressively rolled out and implemented new Performance Management training programs, problem solving techniques and workshops while also supporting and serving as faculty in South Africa.  In 1999, Dominique assumed the title of Human Resources Manager for Novartis Consumer Health where she was in charge of Compensation & Benefits projects and expatriates management, as well as leading the Corporate Learning & Development function.  She joined SGS in February of 2001, first as an International Compensation & Benefits Manager.  She quickly climbed the ranks as International HR assistant Vice President to Vice President of Human Resources to now her present day title of Senior Vice President of Human Resources, being part of the C-Suite and reporting to the Group’s CEO.

Dominique has launched the design and deployment of a global on boarding program, considered thereafter a best practice in decentralized organizations. She led the design and implementation of the SGS Corporate Human Resources Intranet pages as key communication tool for all employees worldwide.  She transformed the HR function by designing and staffing a new HR organization and promoting from within, sponsored the design and deployment of an SGS Group’s Employer Branding in 30 countries covering 83 % of total hires to facilitate the 15,000 and up hiring per year, rolled out a yearly worldwide engagement initiative to reduce voluntary turnover and allow focus on top priorities for talent retention.  She sponsored a global initiative to analyze and raise efficiency and effectiveness of the HR function and delivery across 110 countries. With all of the responsibilities that come with her title, there is nothing that Dominique cannot accomplish and she enjoys challenges.

Dominique received her Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management from Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in 1987.  She has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession. In 2015 she was inducted as a Lifetime Member and was named “Outstanding Member of the Year” by Bristol Who’s Who.  In 2016 she was inducted as an honored Lifetime member of the International Association of Top Professionals and named “Top Professional of the Year in Human Resources.”

Looking back, Dominique attributes her success to her adaptability, strong decision making skills, passion for speed, results, finding solutions, creating new ideas and setting high standards with strong multi?functional teams.  She is a positive leader who takes pride in grooming and developing the abilities of a diverse team, and she is able to maximize on resources and systems to ensure efficiency.  Others who have worked with Dominique describe her as “very smart, inspiring, respectful, charismatic, global HR professional who has a calm and collaborative approach.”  For the future, Dominique will continue to grow as a professional and wants to continue to improve the HR functionality to ensure prosperity for the company as well as for the employees, bringing a strong sense of humanity into organizations.
