Have you ever been bullied? Do you know someone who has? Do you remember that pain that the bully caused? October is anti-bully month and there is a powerful, professionally produced 6 minute video that is going viral featuring Sadie, the dog known worldwide for her bravery after being bullied in the worst way. Sadie was found in the mountains of Kentucky with a bullet between her eyes and one in her back put there after having a litter of puppies.
Compassionate people found her and through a series of events, Sadie was transported to a no kill shelter in Wisconsin where her adoptive mother, Joal found her while she was donating blankets. Because Sadie was urinary and fecally incontinent and couldn’t walk, the vets urged Joal to do the kind thing, but something in Sadie’s eyes told Joal differently.
Except from the video “When I look at what happened to me I don’t think I will ever understand how people can hurt others so easily for no reason. It’s not right, but it is real”. www.savingsadiemovie.com shows how Sadie overcame her bully and how you can, too. Sadie shows us that we have to love and respect each other to work together to end bullying and to surround ourselves with people who care about us.
Fast forward to today: Sadie is known in 15 countries and across the U.S. She is the Ambassadog for Generations Against Bullying (gabnow.org) Sadie was saved for a reason! Sadie and Joal travel and speak to schools, libraries and businesses to teach a message of Thinking about what you CAN do and not what you CAN’T do, just like Sadie does. Her children’s book, Sadie and the Superstars, teaches just that. Her life story, Saving Sadie, How a Dog that No One Wanted Inspired the World will be published by Kensington/Citadel in September of 2017.
