Awards recognize KTGY’s wide range of capabilities, excellence and innovation in the design of attached and detached single-family and multifamily residential communities.

TYSONS, Va. – International award-winning KTGY Architecture + Planning’s design and architecture have earned top honors in the 2016 Great American Living Awards (GALA) program, the most prestigious residential design, sales and marketing competition in the metropolitan Washington, DC market for more than 50 years. The awards, which were presented by the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association, the Washington Metropolitan Sales and Marketing Council, and the Maryland Building Industry Association, recognized KTGY’s wide range of capabilities, excellence and innovation in the design of attached and detached single-family and multifamily residential communities.

KTGY received two Grand Awards and one Award of Merit in the Design and Architecture category for:

** GRAND AWARD – Grand Central at Signal Hill Station in Manassas, Va., for Best Design & Architecture, Attached Home, Including Townhouses, $350,001 – $400,000

Grand Central at Signal Hill Station in Manassas, Va., built by Miller & Smith, is a truly grand townhome with nearly 2,300 square feet, a two-car garage, three to four bedrooms, 2.5-3.5 baths and a significant rear yard. The main level has a gourmet kitchen with two walls of cabinets and an oversized granite island. The spacious great room can feature a fireplace and is adjacent to the optional deck/screened porch which allows for desirable indoor and outdoor living opportunities. Upstairs the master suite is luxurious with a huge walk-in closet and private master bath. The secondary bedrooms are much larger than can be found in most townhomes.

** AWARD OF MERIT – Hartwood at Embrey Mill in Stafford, Va., for Design and Architecture, Detached Home (on lots under 7,000 s.f.), $300,001 – $400,000

Hartwood at Embrey Mill in Stafford, Va., built by Miller & Smith, emphasizes the open, casual living on the main level with expansive kitchen with a large center island open to the breakfast nook and large great room. The great room features an optional fireplace and a 3’0” extension. The main level also offers a desirable gathering room that can fit many lifestyles needs, from a formal living room or a cool lounge to a convenient kids’ playroom, or a private study. It could also be a large formal dining room that is easily accessed from the kitchen. Light fills this home with an abundance of strategically placed windows that still allow privacy. Upstairs a large owner’s suite has the opportunity for expansion with an optional bay window and expanded walk-in closet. The secondary bedrooms are spacious and functional for all family needs. Second floor also offers a roomy laundry room with plenty of natural light and an optional sink.
