Host Institutions Bid to Pilot Innovative Technology
DENVER, CO – 10/21/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET) — The Prime Health Challenge is a 3-month program of mentorship and competition for digital health companies. On October 19th, six companies presented their solutions to a panel of judges and a variety of host institutions. After each company’s pitch, host institutions choose to bid on the digital technology. LungDirect, software designed to bridge the gap between pulmonary nodule CT detection and diagnosis of lung cancer, will pilot innovative technology at National Jewish Health and SCL Health in Denver, CO. The pilot will determine if registering incidentally found nodules to LungDirect results in increased timeliness of lung cancer treatment, survival from lung cancer, better resource utilization, adherence to recommended surveillance, and FTE time improvement.
Christine Spraker, President of Matrix Analytics, says “We’ve been developing the algorithms LungDirect is based upon for two-years, and are excited to partner with such well-renowned institutions. Today, managing incidentally found nodules is burdensome and patients often fall through the cracks. LungDirect bridges that gap and we aim to prove better pulmonary nodule management results in earlier detection of lung cancer and increased resource utilization for hospitals.”
LungDirect, a product of Matrix Analytics, is a proprietary software suite developed by an Interventional Pulmonologist frustrated with the disjointed care pulmonary nodule patients often receive. Electronic Medical Record systems are not equipped to manage nodule care coordination, so Dr. Alzubaidi and his staff were left to use Excel spreadsheets and other outdated mechanisms to manage nodule clinic patients. After much frustration, he decided there had to be a better way. LungDirect offers an innovative way for providers to manage both lung cancer screening patients and other at-risk pulmonary nodule patients.
About Matrix Analytics: Matrix Analytics is a collection of clinical and business experts aligned in the belief that conquering illness and disease requires data, creativity, and an unrelenting focus on Always Learning. First in sights: Lung Cancer. Despite recent clinical advancements and available technology, an integrated solution to drive the consistent and efficient detection, diagnosis, and treatment of pulmonary nodules and lung cancer does not exist. LungDirect is Matrix Analytics’ software suite designed to optimize patient care by automatically registering and navigating nodule patients, as well as streamlining CMS reimbursement submission for lung cancer screening patients.
