INDIANAPOLIS, IN – 11/10/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET) — Retired Army veteran David Mitchell runs around the perimeter of Indiana to raise awareness for and help prevent military veteran suicide.

1000 miles after David “Doc” Mitchell (50) began running on August 28th, he will finish where he started at the New Albany, Indiana VFW (1919 Grant Line Rd, New Albany, IN) on November 11, Veteran’s Day. Indiana American Legions, VFWs, and donors throughout the state have assisted David on his journey.

Mitchell, of Indianapolis, is running in support of a local veteran non-profit, The Path Home [501(C)3], in a project titled “Operation Gump”. The purpose of the project is to raise aid and awareness for the prevention of Hoosier veterans committing suicide. The Path Home has been supporting Hoosier veterans since 2009 with several projects, highlighted by the building of a house for a Afghan war double amputee
