November 18, 2016, Tallinn, Estonia – Robotex is Europe’s biggest Robotics event. It is scheduled to be held in Estonia, Tallinn on the 2-4th of December 2016. The event dates back to 2001. Throughout the years Robotex has promoted innovation in line following, labyrinth passing, volleyball, rope climbing, room cleaning, football, sea rescue mission, and other robotics competitions.
According to Karl Laasik, Organizer of event: “Robotex has been known to promote innovations in the field of robotics through various competitions organized during the event. The event also encourages exhibition of new technology from across the globe. Big corporations along with newer startups are invited to showcase their products and technology. The main objective of the event is to encourage innovation and research in the field of robotics and its practical use.”
The event is expected to host 150 exhibits this year with 35 different exponents. More than 1,600 robot builders and approximately 16,000 spectators are expected to take part in the event. Moreover, Robotex presents an excellent opportunity to young learners to interact with veterans in the event. Various workshops are being held to ensure a maximum learning opportunity for the new builders and scientists.
In fact, 200 enterprises are a part of the Robotex initiative and are actively involved in the exhibitions and workshops. Robotex’s main aim is to inculcate an intrigue regarding robotics technology in the newer generations. The competitions organized as a part of the event are meant to promote participation by builders of all levels including young kids and university students.
“1132 teams have signed up for Robotex this year. It is more than the previous Guinness record of 1075 teams at the VEX Worlds robot competition that took place in the United States in April 2016.” Further commented Karl Laasik.
