Travel Strikes Heating up for Christmas and New Year

Your travel plans in jeopardy for Christmas in New Year.

Customs and Immigration, Border Force issues have not gone away. Likely to heat up for Christmas.

French Polynesia

Air Tahiti Nui (Air Franc subsidiary) engineers are on strike. Expect delays as planes don’t get inspected.


Perhaps Lufthansa pilot strike is coming to an end. Negotiations have been positive for a change. No strikes are planned at this current time.


Strikes have eased up until recently. Dockers are striking leaving it very difficult for airline passengers to get to mainland for flights. National strike is planned for tomorrow.


Irish airline pilots association upset over Norwegian Air flights to USA from Cork and Shannon Airports.

CityJet Dublin, pilot issues still not resolved, although talks are on going.


El Al pilots have sealed a deal ,which leaves flight attendants unhappy, no strike date is set.


December 15 day of aviation strikes

Milan – Malpensa Airport  and Linate Airport baggage handlers and ramp workers 11am – 3pm. Call your airline.

Hand in hand with Milan’s Malpensa are Rome’s Fiumicino and Ciampino airports strikes from 11am – 3pm. Call your airline.

Alitalia workers threaten 24 hour strike, nationwide. This includes some cabin crew union members. Call them.

Alitalia Cityliner nation-wide strike by pilots and flight attendants 00:01 – 23:59hrs


Kenya Airways

This carrier is in shambles. Pilot’s moving on to other air carriers. Do yourself a favor, change airline carrier.


Be aware Machu Picchu rail strike is off, but issue not resolved.

South Korea

Big problem is brewing with Korean Air, pilots announce 12 day strike up to new year.


Watch out if traveling to and from Geneva Airport, baggage handlers threaten strike action.


Birmingham Airport ground and baggage handlers will strike this week-end. Stay in touch with your airline. Last strike saw passengers luggage delayed two hours or more. 

Gatwick Airport

1, 400 Firemen, airport security and maintenance workers threaten strike action.

Southern Rail:-Impossible to rely on if going to Gatwick Airport
