CHICAGO, IL – 10 Feb, 2017 – This week, Junior Ninja Warriors owner Jackie Piejak announced that they will expand into Libertyville, Illinois and Naperville, Illinois in 2017. Negotiations have already begun with the cities regarding their plans.
Plans were put into motion to open Junior Ninja Warriors at 2915 W. Montrose Ave. in Chicago after Jackie was watching NBC’s American Ninja Warrior with her husband Jeff and two daughters. The show had ended but not for their girls, who proceeded to start creating their own obstacles in the backyard. Jeff and Jackie saw an opportunity to give back to the families in Chicago by creating a gym that focuses on safe and challenging activities aimed at kids wanting to overcome obstacles.
“Parents, including myself, want their kid to be active and healthy. Not only physically healthy because they’re working and getting their energy out, but mentally healthy because of the confidence that we see after each obstacle they complete. Kids truly learn they can be awesome,” says Jackie.
Jackie and the Junior Ninja team are excited for these expansion opportunities where they will bring classes, competitions, camps, birthday parties, and open play to these communities. They also have made lasting connections with many American Ninja Warrior competitors and will be partnering with many to create these new gyms, including Ethan Swanson. Swanson, one of seventeen Pro Ninjas to advance onto Stage 2 in season 8 of American Ninja Warrior, is the Manager of Course Operations at the JNW Chicago location.
