LOS ANGELES, CA – 19 Mar, 2017 – Dalgis Edelson, a wonderfully complex oil painting artist most known for her symbolism who explores the beauty and ugliness of gains and losses in life with paints cast on regular canvas and wood, this week had one of her original paintings used for AntiQuark, an alternative electronic music band’s album artwork.
AntiQuark, the futuristic musica-di-frontiera duo brings the oil painting to life in their new album Adama, exploring the depths and vibrancies of the Isis, Osiris, and Horus-reminiscent painting piece.
“It is always a pleasure to watch my artwork come to life through different artistic mediums like music and cinematography,” said Edelson. “This painting perfectly complements AntiQuark’s original, ear-catching concept, and it was captivating to watch elements of it come forth in their full-feature music video for Adama.”
Edelson combines a unique, poignant style with an abundance of details, intensely rich colors and complex compositions to bridge the expansiveness of emotive expressionism with the realities of the physical world. She draws on her sense of spirituality, dreams, symbolism, and imaginative wanderings to probe the intuitive flow of the human experience.
