Dublin, Ireland – The rising independent artist DJ Roy Cohen is preparing to release his first full length studio endeavor as a solo act. Previously best known for his work in the duo JIVE64 and producing for the likes of Marq Aurel and David C, Cohen has become increasingly well known as a versatile, multi-faceted talent. The second single off his upcoming record, ‘Take Off,’ is available on all digital music platforms now!
‘Take Off’ is the second insight into ‘Happy Noises,’Cohen’s new album that delves deep into the happier, more joyful parts of life.The eclectic collection explores those themes through Irish, Mexican, Israeli, Middle Eastern, and a bevy of other regional musical styles. That sound is then infused with Cohen’s signature electronic dance style, which many fans will be familiar with through his work with JIVE64.
DJ Roy Cohen was previously lauded during the Peter Gabriel ‘Scratch My Back’ remix contest, receiving an honorary mention for his remix of ‘Games Without Frontiers.’ JIVE64 has charted in several countries as well, landing #5 in Germany, #6 in Israel, and #17 in Sweden. Moving forward, Cohen is booked to DJ several Dublin events, including the Dublin Pride Parade.
By day, Cohen is an industry leader at one of the largest tech companies in the world. Originally from Tel Aviv, he moved to Dublin three years ago and ‘Happy Noises’ will be the first record he has recorded there. Last year, Cohen married his husband after the country’s gay marriage referendum, marking one of the joyful moments detailed in ‘Happy Noises.’
