Mr Nurujjaman is equally active and driven in the community having won the London borough of Brent ‘Community Activist of the Year Award 2016-2017’, which he received earlier this year from the Mayor of Brent, Councillor Parvez Ahmed. This award recognised Mr Nurujjaman’s efforts in a variety of volunteer roles such as being the youngest ever elected director (director of international relations) in the history of BBCCI, a not-for profit organisation that promotes trade between the UK and Bangladesh. In addition, Mr Nurujjaman is deeply involved with charitable organisations such as the Human Relief Foundation, raising more than £60,000 in 2016 for Syrian refugees in an appeal that involved him trekking more than 90km along the Great Wall of China.
