Local Beer Co. Palmia Sells Out And Raises $50,000 In 48 Hours

Local San Francisco craft beer company, Palmia took the industry by surprise by getting sold out in a beta test launch in San Francisco. Its signature drink Palmia is the world’s first all-natural 90 calories lemon infused beer.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – May 4, 2017 – Local craft beer company Palmia is reportedly redefining the craft beer market in the US with its world’s first au-natural 90 calories lemon infused signature beer. The microbrewery hit the headlines recently by getting sold out in a beta test launch in San Francisco, raising a whopping $50,000 in just 48 Hours! Inspired by fun-filled Spanish summer, the game-changing Palmia drink is fast winning hearts with its unique full-bodied taste and natural flavors.

While other startups struggle to reach at least a decent number in the beta stage, the microbrewery certainly sets an example by getting completely sold out in the same phase. Founded only a couple of years back, Palmia took the whole industry by surprise by successfully surpassing as many as 3600 cases in the beta test launch with 110 accounts! The beta test was carried at one of San Francisco’s most popular restaurants, Tacolicious.

“Palmia is perfection as far as taste, and pairs perfectly with our tacos and our handmade guacamole. I can see this beer being one of our favorites here!” remarked Mike Barrow, managing partner at Tacolicious.

It all started with David Epstein (Palmia founder) being awed by the exhilarating taste of Spanish lemon beer CLARA on his Mallorca trip. He knew he had to bring it to America to introduce a new horizon to the local craft brew market- and thus Palmia was launched.

“This stuff should be everywhere! I can taste the opportunity”, Epstein felt when he saw how CLARA made the Spanish beach parties and club nights even more special.

Added to the beta test launch, Palmia has also received immense response at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival. In fact, Epstein added, “We also co-sponsored a small event at the Sundance Film Festival and had such great response that we ran out of beer. Next year you will see us at Coachella and SXSW.”

The fast rising lemon infused beer has already been approved to be sold at one of America’s largest retailers, Target, and has signed letters of intent with three more esteemed names- BevMo!, Real Food Co. & United Markets.. The company also speaks of solid traction record with San Francisco’s some of the best eateries and grocery stores like The Brixton, Mayes Oyster House and Blue Light and of course Tacolicious.

So, what’s the unique selling point of Palmia? Citrus lager is nothing new in the US, courtesy Bud Light Lime but this new beer company claims to “do it better” and it has all natural flavors.

“It’s true that craft alcohol is growing around 13% with each passing year.  But then customers aren’t too fond of the usual heavy IPA common with regular craft beers. Around 83 million men and women in the States are waiting for that ‘next great drink’ and Palmia fits the gap perfectly. What separates our drink from beers such as Bud Light is its lower calories So, while Bud Light gets taxing on your health with 116 calories, Palmia assures a safer alternative with just 90 calories & 4.2% alc. And yes, Bud Light comes with artificial flavoring yet Palmia helps you to relish the rich organic taste with its naturally infused lemon flavor”, explained Robert Nathanson, the CEO of Palmia.

Palmia’s phenomenal success at the beta test stage had Epstein contemplating about a robust expansion. However, procuring loan was tough as banks declined to help a company without longer track record. Angel investors too looked elsewhere. But nothing could down Epstein’s indomitable spirit and he took to equity crowdfunding at the biggest fund-raising platform Wefunder.

The breakthrough brew aims to raise around $1 million through crowd support- where around $100,000 would be utilized to enhance production & fulfill orders. Backed by the prestigious vendor agreement with Target and strong traction record with some of the most reputed bars, restaurants and grocery stores, Palmia speaks of a promising response with the crowd.
