Boston, MA – May 8, 2017 – Cal/OSHA Summit 2017 will be held on October 10-11 in Costa Mesa, CA. Presented by the esteemed BLR.com, this year the summit will focus on “Leading-Edge Strategies for Exceptional Safety Management and Compliance in California.” Attendees at the event will receive expert insights on the modern developments redefining the contemporary workplace safety regulations, compliance strategies and management tactics. The conference will start at 7 AM and will finish at 5 p.m.While on the second day, it will wrap up at noon.
Day 1 (October 10) will kick off with discussions on the latest updates impacting safety management and training in CA workplaces. Attendees will have experts speaking on the effects of the new Trump administration on federal office safety, current health-based initiatives and enforcement priorities. In addition, there will be discussions on major safety compliance priorities for the Division of Occupational Safety & Health, Appeals Board & Standards Board in California. The session will also highlight vital updates on the new court rulings, regulatory enforcement and policy initiatives as well as training requirements as per Cal/OSHA & federal OSHA standings.
The other sessions of the day will advise on how to present your workplace at its best during surprise OSHA inspections to reduce costly fines; the top Cal/OSHA violations and tips on how to avoid them; how to cope with heat stress and illness in the workplace; compliant safety incentive programs and safety compliance while hiring out-of-state workers.
Day 2 will commence with power talks on crucial developments taking place in the workplace safety sector and the strategies that will help to attain compliance easily. The agenda items of this session are – post-accident drug testing, injury reporting and anti-retaliation prevention; HazCom Labeling practices carried in California and expert tips on preventing workplace violence.
It will be followed by an intensive workshop on how to help employees resume work quickly and safely after an injury or illness. Attendees will be advised on important strategies for managing fitness for duty assessments and light-duty accommodations under FEHA/ADA standards.
