Since Friday a massive cyberattack has hit more than 200,000 computers in 150 countries, spreading a virus that has crippled the systems of banks, hospitals and other businesses.
The ransomware virus, known as “WannaCry,” is automatically scanning for computers it can infect whenever it loads itself onto a new machine. It can even infect other computers on the same network. Already, different variants of this ransomware are being found, so the threat is far from over.
