ROSWELL, GA – MAY 24, 2017 –
From the time of Hippocrates, who in 400 B.C. urged physicians to ”sometimes give your services for nothing,” doctors have cared for many patients at times for free or reduced fees. The Atlantasphere Health Center of Roswell, Georgia is a place of hope, healing, and often new beginnings for men, women, and children in our community struggling with many types of pain and other illnesses.
Doctors Elissa J. Smith and Alan S. Frandsen have been able to have an impact beyond their immediate activities of an office visit by reaching out to individuals and groups and sometimes explore the use of practices in ways that have far-reaching and lasting consequences.
Their knowledge, training, internship and practice have earned them the right to be called doctors. But their highly advanced skills combined with true empathy and the real connections they are making with their patients are earning them the distinction of being not just doctors, but of Pioneers and Medical Leaders.
At Atlantasphere they are aware that no patient wants to walk into a doctor’s office and see a physician who doesn’t care which is too often the case today. A patient wants to see a doctor’s sincere desire to practice medicine and a genuine passion in helping others. Passion and empathy are traits that will set practitioners apart from being an ordinary doctor to being a patient’s “favorite doctor.”
A physician exhibiting these qualities is sure to build a long and successful doctor-patient relationship. In the end, the patient will be much healthier and happier, while the physician is rewarded with knowing they are taking care of their patient’s needs.
In April this year Atlantasphere teamed with The Swift School to donate time and support and complimentary treatments to the local teachers of the wonderfully beautiful dyslexic children during Stress Awareness Week.
With the cooperation and encouragement of Mr. Richard Wendlek, the Head of School, and the tireless efforts of Ms. Martha Moore, the Director of Advancement, the doctors of Atlantasphere and DeBoRah Jackson, LMT spent a day at Swift School pro bono to benefit the teachers/staff but also to bring awareness to the damaging effects of stress on the body, mind, and spirit.

The partnership of Atlantasphere and Swift School is going on its second year because Atlantasphere and Swift School have the same fundamental mission – to meet the individual where they are and provide them with what is needed to express their fullest potential. The staff of the health center and the school both demonstrate their love to the community and so partnering with like-minded individuals was natural.
“What the Swift School is doing for their students is what we as doctors aim to provide for our patients. The first two points of Swift’s five-point promise could just as easily describe the way we approach our patients- the collaboration is a natural fit.” – Dr. Elissa J. Smith, Founder of Atlantasphere

“As someone who grew up dealing with learning disabilities myself, to come in and give back to the teachers by doing chair massages is the least we can do – they give so much to these kids and make such a difference. This is just our way of letting them know we appreciate and value what they do!” – Dr. Alan S. Frandsen
