DALLAS, TX – 8 Jun, 2017 – Dallas-based nonprofit Community Council is actively seeking to fund community youth development and juvenile delinquency prevention programs that meet a specific criteria. The organization currently has outreach efforts underway for programs seeking funding in the 75216 and 75217 ZIP codes, which cover the South Oak Cliff, Cedar Crest and Pleasant Grove communities.
“We have a long history of supporting community youth development programs in our underserved communities,” stated Libbie Lee, director of the community youth development programs at the Community Council of Dallas. “However, many activity organizers are still unaware that through our request for proposal process, they can access grant money to offset costs related to registration fees, uniforms and other team-related equipment.”
Organizations and activity programs considered after-school or out-of-school initiatives are encouraged to contact the Community Council to officially apply through the RFP process, which then leads to a contract with specific stipulations on the use of the grant money. Programs to be considered must effect youths aged 10-17 and be in one of the two approved zip codes – 75216 or 75217.
Examples of programs eligible for partnership with the Community Council’s youth development programs include such activities as gymnastics, softball, baseball, track and field, basketball, flag football, dance, fitness/health and leadership development.
