DENVER, CO – 20 Jun, 2017 – The City of Denver will be joining with other cities around the world to recognize and celebrate social media’s impact on global communications Friday, June 30th as Mayor Michael Hancock has declared the day to be known as Social Media Day Denver: Mile High Influence. Initially started in 2010 by popular tech site Mashable.com, Social Media Day has become an international event celebrated in large and small cities around the globe.
Social Media Day Denver will be the city’s most ambitious effort to date featuring an all-day agenda, which will bring together leaders in the social space from both in and out of state. The event will take place at The Fieldhouse Event Venue located next door to Mile High Stadium with a view overlooking downtown.
Headlining the event will be local social media maven, Joel Comm. A New York Times Best-selling author and Internet pioneer. Comm is a local favorite and was named a top 3 social influencer in the city by The Denver Business Journal.
“Denver has become a hive of activity for technology and social media,” says Comm. He continues, “I’m thrilled to see so the Mayor recognize and encourage our small business and entrepreneurial community to come together for this special day.”
Comm will be joined by some of the most influential names in the social media space, including Kim Garst of Tampa, Florida; Bryan and Courtney Kramer of San Jose, California; Ray Edwards of Spokane, Washington; Michael O’ Neal of San Diego, California and Vicki Fitch of Los Angeles, California.
While many featured speakers will be crossing state lines to be a part of this ground-breaking event, a number of top local personalities will be on hand to equip attendees. Colorado native speakers include Andrea Vahl, Leslie Nance, Anthony Prichard, Matt Holmes and conference organizer, Erin Cell.

Social Media Day Denver 2017 commences at 8:30 am on Friday, June 30th at The Fieldhouse Event Venue located at 1600 Federal Blvd with a full agenda; including breaks and lunch which will be catered by Chef Angelee Aurillo, with heavy appetizers in the evening provided by Mac n’ Noodles Denver food truck.
Social Media Day Denver has partnered with local non-profit Genny’s Hope Foundation and will be registering attendees to the bone marrow donor registry on-site.
The day will conclude with Joel Comm’s annual Social Media Shenanigans meetup, an evening of networking, food & drinks, door prizes, a special talk from guest, Kim Garst and a celebration overlooking the Denver night skyline.
