Costa Mesa, CA – Summer is here and air conditioners and central air units are getting put to the test.  Orange County based Guaranteed Quality Heating and Air not only works with customers to develop maintenance plans for their Air Conditioning and Heating units, but also to provide affordable units should their current system fail.

The Performance of AC and Furnace is sometimes less than robust due to the lack of maintenance on the unit throughout the year.  GQ Heating and Air offers these tips for homeowners to help keep their units running in tip top shape.

1) Replace or Clean the Air Filter.  This is by far the most important maintenance step for Optimal Performance. The more dirt and dust that accumulates, the less output the unit is capable of. A Clean Air Filter is also important for those who have allergies as it decreases the dust and pollen in the home.

2) Examine and Test the Thermostat. Thermostats are one of the most commonly replaced parts of the heating and air system. This component is responsible for most high energy bills. Use the buttons to adjust the controls to verify that it is still working properly. If it is not working correctly consider having it replaced.

3) Check and Clean the Outdoor Unit. HVAC Equipment will accumulate debris overtime making them less effective. Shut off all power to the unit and then use a garden hose to wash the debris from the fan blades and the coil.

4) Verify the Integrity of the Wiring. Turn off the power to the unit and then check the wiring for any melted insulation or loose wires that could be either a hazard or compromise the integrity of the unit.

“This is the time of year that we get a lot of repair calls,” says Ray Adibi, CEO.  “Many of them involve the various issue we talk about in our ‘Helpful Tips’, like cleaning the air filter, replacing the thermostat, or getting twigs and grass out of the outdoor unit. Over time if you let maintenance like that go, you will eventually end up having to replace the unit.”

The company is happy to help maintain AC and Heating units for their customers, but they also suggest purchasing new units when the costs of maintenance begin to outweigh the current system value. The Award Winning Amana/Goodman Factory Dealer offers thousands of dollars in discounts on new units in order to make it easier for a family to afford a better quality of cool air. We want the air we breathe to be as good as the water we drink.

“We have absolutely no problem performing maintenance for our customers or being there on those miserably hot days to fix an air conditioning system,” says Adibi. “But at a certain point it makes sense to get a new unit and we try to reduce that cost to make it easier on a family’s budget. After all, no one is excited about spending hundreds of dollars on A/C. You want to save it or spend it on something fun. We have great financing options available.”

The A+ Business Bureau Accredited heating and air conditioning company has served thousands of homeowners for over 25 years. They have won awards for their great customer service as well as for honest employees with integrity. The company has earned widespread recognition as one of the industry leaders from brands like Home Advisor, the Better Business Bureau, Yelp, Google and “Best of Santa Ana.”
