Robert Frost quotes, “Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.” Andrew G. Zubinas is a certified poet who has accumulated over 130 hardcover books of Lithuanian poetry. He blissfully shares his book titled, Forest Lungs: A poem, published and marketed by Toplink. The beauty of each poem is very significant and symbolic as he expresses his poetic mind in English language for the global poets, readers and educators to appreciate the power of words.
Forest Lungs lyrically explores the beauty of nature. His scenic descriptions of the forest breathing, the sun, the clouds, the trees, animals, the rain, and the living organisms around it convey the fact that nothing ever stays the same. His smooth-flowing depiction of the nature allows the readers to breathe and imagine how the beauty of the world can heal and comfort a wandering soul.
Few lines from “Forest Lungs” read:
Acorn lung bud, rough crowned cartilage cap, smooth wooden cheek of a faceless knob.
Acorn lung bud, open doorways pouch of dirt, unborn sapling womb of soil.
Strands of trees; natures green harpsichord plucked by the brisk digits of a breeze.
Strands of trees; natures brown violin notes rising, falling, and changing color.
Forest beam flu; rainy ice storm remnants glistening, melting, thawing in the sunbeams.
Forest beam flu; flocks of birds settling, perching, chirping, flying, fleeing in the sunbeams.
Mr. Zubinas takes the readers to the soothing effect of the art of poetry by opening their senses to the healing that the forest lungs can offer.
