Freedom Care Opens New CDPAP Location in Rochester

New York – Freedom Care, a leading Fiscal Intermediary in New York, opened a new office in Rochester, Monroe County. The new location spreads the availability of the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP). This program gives elderly, disabled, and ill individuals freedom to choose who cares for them and how they want to be cared for in their own home.

CEO Yoel Gabay explains that CDPAP changes the way these Consumers (patients) think by eliminating the feeling of being a burden to their loved ones who are paid a fair salary for their assistance. CDPAP helps because patients won’t have to worry, knowing they are in the hands of someone the whole family trusts. Abigail J., a satisfied client, shares how CDPAP has worked for her, “FreedomCare made it possible for me to hire and fairly compensate my son for his time and endless sacrifice during my recovery. Most importantly, I received the loving care and stability of family.”

The program has been in existence for over 35 years and the demand for CDPAP providers has accelerated quickly in recent years. Freedom Care is working hard to meet this demand and raise awareness about the benefits of this program. To this end, Freedom Care reaches out to the community in Rochester and educates them about CDPAP.

Freedom Care works with clients to explore their options and the possibility of making CDPAP work for them. Freedom Care walks patients through the whole process from the initial enrollment in the program and physician’s order through enrolling the Caregiver (Personal Assistant – PA) on payroll so they receive the  benefits and compensation. In CDPAP, the consumer hires, trains, and terminates his/her own home caregiver. The consumer is the employer of the caregiver who can be a relative, a neighbor, a friend, or a trusted home aide. Freedom Care acts as a helping hand and a listening ear and prioritizes the health and well-being of its clients.

Freedom Care is the go-to agency for Medicaid-managed care organizations including CDPAP. They have offices statewide with locations in Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Buffalo. Their new location is at 510 Clinton Square, Rochester, New York 14604.
