National Small Business Association finds new audience with Road Ahead show partnership

The Road Ahead is a popular weekly podcast for small business owners, hosted and produced by Jared Nichols in partnership with the National Small Business Association.
The NSBA, one of the oldest national business associations in America, is embracing new media with its sponsorship of The Road Ahead show. The weekly podcast, hosted by Jared Nichols, is attracting entrepreneurs from across the country with its unique focus on issues affecting small business owners.

Washington D.C. – September 8, 2017 – The Road Ahead show is a weekly podcast hosted by futurist Jared Nichols. The show’s focus on issues facing entrepreneurs today was a natural fit with the National Small Business Association (NSBA), says Nichols, referring to the association’s presenting sponsorship.

The show format is Nichol’s interviews with high-profile business thought leaders.

One of the early guests was Lolly Daskal who spoke about how small-business owners can enhance their performance and make a meaningful difference in their companies, their lives and the world. Daskal outlined a program she has developed, based on a mix of modern philosophy, science and nearly thirty years coaching top executives to help her clients produce exceptional results.

Daskal is one of the most sought-after executive leadership coaches in the world, and is considered a Top-50 Leadership and Management Expert by Inc. Magazine.

The NSBA, celebrating its 80th Anniversary in 2017, the Washington-based organization continues its mission as advocate on behalf of America’s entrepreneurs. A staunchly nonpartisan organization, NSBA’s 65,000 members represent every state and every industry in the U.S.

The popular podcast has attracted an audience of thousands of business owners, and the NSBA is enjoying the exposure their sponsorship of the weekly show gives them to this “new group of potential members,” says Nichols.

Modern, effective leadership is a topic that has been the focus of several episodes. Dov Baron, a best-selling author and leadership speaker, was featured in an early show where he discussed with Nichols what it means to be an authentic leader in the 21st Century, and what skills, attributes and characteristics are required to be a successful and effective small business leader.

Host Nichols says he also seeks out businesspeople, not just authors and speakers to be guests on the show. An example is Richard Consoli of Cross Company. Nichols interviewed Consoli about the importance of strategic planning for small business, and specifically why it should not be a tactical approach. Consoli, president of integrated systems at Cross Company, a company specializing in technologies to improve machine and manufacturing process performance, is an expert in utilizing industry data to help develop sound strategic plans and help businesses react to various business cycles.

Strategic planning is a theme Nichols is uniquely qualified to explore. In addition to hosting The Road Ahead, Nichols consults with organizations across the country as a deep futures expert and principal of the Jared Nichols Group.
