Fluid Dynamics Receives NSF/ANSI 61 Certification

ADDISON, TEXAS, September 23, 2014. Fluid Dynamics, the world’s oldest and largest manufacturer of catalytic hard water treatment and scale prevention systems, driven by environmentally friendly goals, has recently received the NSF/ANSI 61 Certification by NSF International. The significance of the NSF/ANSI Standard 61 Certification is best described in the definition of that standard by the National Sanitation Foundation itself as:

NSF/ANSI Standard 61 – 2007: “Drinking Water System Components – Health Effects” was published in 1988 to establish minimum requirements for the control of potential adverse human effects from products that contact drinking water. This Standard is intended to cover specific materials or products that come into contact with drinking water. It establishes minimum health effect requirements for the chemical contaminants and impurities that are indirectly imparted to drinking water from products, components and materials used in drinking water systems.

NSF International is an independent public health and safety organization that has been testing and certifying products for more than 67 years. Their mission is to protect and improve human health on a global scale. The accredited NSF Certification assures suppliers, retailers, regulators and consumers that an independent organization has reviewed a product’s manufacturing process and product components and determined that the product complies with specific standards for safety, quality, sustainability and performance. It provides information to stakeholders which allows them to determine compliance to regulatory specifications, and to determine general suitability of products, systems and processes.

Fluid Dynamics was recognized with this third-party certification upon completing an extensive, seven-step process specific to their products. Every aspect of the company’s eco-friendly products were evaluated, tested in a laboratory, inspected, sampled, and reviewed for acceptance. After successfully completing the necessary procedures, they were awarded the NSF/ANSI 61 Certification by NSF International.

“This NSF/ANSI Standard 61 Certification is a significant achievement in our process to validate the existence of equipment available in the market that provides safe and effective treatment for the prevention of scaling due to hard water conditions. This scale prevention is achieved while protecting the environment in addition to the people and facilities that use and consume the treated water. We are proud to offer an effective treatment that is safe for people, facilities and the environment,” says Randy Evans, CEO/Principal of Fluid Dynamics, NA.
