Tampa, FL, USA – November 2, 2017 – Catherine Lavender’s latest novel, In Black and White, is a heartwarming women’s fiction novel about family, secrets, and one woman’s struggle as she tries to come to terms with the past and who she truly is.
Micah Winters always knew she was different. As the offspring of biracial parents, her African-American mother kept her estranged father’s identity a secret for five decades. Now, after Sidney Irving’s death, Micah learns she’s the daughter of a legendary novelist and screenwriter. While Alzheimer disease makes her mother’s memory fade away, she has no choice but to rely on a novel her father wrote years ago-a novel that might help her understand the past, and the choices her parents made during the time of segregation in the United States.
As Micah tries to cope with the past, and the unfamiliar world she enters as she inherits her father’s wealth, she discovers that in order to find out who she truly is, she’ll have to forgive the past.
