IIMSAM : H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Musallem Salem Bin Ham Al Ameri continues to contribute to the work of the Intergovernmental Institution for the Use of Micro-Algae Spirulina Against Malnutrition (IIMSAM), the Intergovernmental Observer to the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
In his capacity as the Deputy Secretary General of IIMSAM, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Bin Ham Al Ameri plays an integral part to support the Office of the Secretary General and several activities in the UAE under the IIMSAM umbrella.
His remarkable efforts have helped further IIMSAM’s fight against malnutrition, not just in the Arab states, but globally as well. In Kenya, for instance, his strong support furthered the impact of the Sheikh Zayed Centre for Free Distribution of Spirulina, since its establishment in 2009.
As a former member of the Federal National Council, His Excellency fought for reform and development in the areas of youth, health and education in the UAE. The Emirati businessman does, after all, come from a family with a legacy for contributing to the betterment of the UAE society.
His Excellency carries on the work of his father, Sheikh Musallem Bin Salim bin Ham Al Ameri, and his grandfather Sheikh Salim bin Ham (may God have mercy on him), who stood by the late H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, during the formation of the UAE.
Apart from his on-going contribution towards IIMSAM’s work, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Bin Ham has also been a commendable contributor to the humanitarian development initiatives across the nation. Coming from the Awamer tribe, and from a family of born-leaders, His Excellency has grown up with virtues of leadership, social and cultural contribution and love for the nation.
Today, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Bin Ham is also a member of the Al Ain City Council, the place of his birth, is a founding member of the ‘We Are All UAE’ Association, and remains a part of the visionary management of the Bin Ham conglomerate as its Vice Chairman. He has also published two books, one titled, “United Arab Emirates – Wise Governance” (2012) and the other “The Shura in the UAE”, published 2015, which is an analytical representation of the Emirati experience of commitment to Shura, as an approach to governance and also a way of life since ancient times.
His all-round contribution to the UAE and his work with IIMSAM remains exceedingly important, and will continue to fuel IIMSAM’s fight against malnutrition. IIMSAM remains committed to not only fighting hunger and poverty around the world, but also to encourage global development towards a better quality of life, overall. H.E. Dr. Sheik Bin Ham and his work embodies the change that IIMSAM is working to bring about.
