In honor and celebration of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night’s 20 anniversary, Materia Collective has re-envisioned their favorite music from the game. By using live symphonic orchestra and choir recordings, they pay tribute to the music of Tomoko Sano, Michiru Yamane, Akira Souji, Rika Muranaka, and Jeff Lorber.
Resurrection of the Night: Alucard’s Elegy
The first volume of Resurrection of the Night was released October 30th. This album is similar to the sound to be found on Alucard’s Elegy.
Featuring various talented soloists and musicians, Alucard’s Elegy features nearly an hour of music from the standard game and ending. In order to capture the additional music narrative that will be told, Materia Collective plans to record a professional choir and orchestra. The completed album is to be released on many different digital and traditional platforms, such as:
This is not Materia Collective’s first endeavor to create a re-imaged soundtrack. By raising over $50,000, they were able to record a licensed orchestral re-imagining of the Ocarina of Time soundtrack with a 64-piece symphonic orchestra. In addition, Materia Collective recorded Hero of Time, which rocked the soundtrack charts.
The Materia Collective Team
