The team of at S.M.A.R.T Foundation led by Nigel Dupree has proudly announced that they are inviting participants to Beta Trial a new Patented and potentially disruptive health tool, The Dupree Screen Optimiser (DSO).
The Dupree Screen Optimiser is an effective commercial occupational health Display Screen Equipment (DSE), a Visual Risk Assessment and Screen Fatigue or Computer Vision Syndrome mitigation tool intended to address the issue of eye-strain experienced by the majority of DSE user operators of sub-optimally calibrated display screen interface ergonomics.
This tool was originally developed for teenagers who are at risk of being or have been excluded from school and those at risk of or are already offending because, they have been systemically failed in education and remain “functional and digitally illiterate” thereby end up marginalized in their year/class and wider fluently reading peer group simply because, they are unable to fully participate in a “text based” learning environment, thereby experiencing a high degree of “approval deprivation” from adults. These teens eventually become frustrated and predictably suffer performance anxiety ending up defensively aggressive.
The Dupree Screen Optimizer (DSO) is now being commercialized and the beta trial is part of the commercialization of the children’s version. Speaking on what prompted the commercialization, Nigel Dupree says “when they leave school to go to work many of them if not the majority are going to spending even more time on-screen as the world of work is increasingly dependent on DSE to interface with automatic business systems and without an “objective” risk assessment tool that will effectively mitigate the debilitating symptoms of CVS their working life-cycles will be predictably foreshortened.”
Nigel Dupree also had this to say on the need for better health regulations “Personal Safety’ and/or occupational health seems to be something human resources and HR skip over, paper over the cracks and maintain denial that it has anything to do with them, especially as, ‘the powers that be’ managed to exclude the very thing it says on the 1993 DSE Regulations “Tin” treating display screen equipment as just part of the office furniture.”
The risks of substantial ill-health to any individual user of DSE, is believed to be relatively low, particularly if regulatory provisions are adequately complied with. However, the very large number of people exposed to such work means that, even at a low level of incidence, DSE work potentially makes a significant contribution to the estimated total of working days lost to MSDs in the UK each year
The Study also showed that the risks of substantial ill-health to any individual user of DSE, is believed to be relatively low, particularly if regulatory provisions are adequately complied with. However, the very large number of people exposed to such work means that, even at a low level of incidence, DSE work potentially makes a significant contribution to the estimated total of working days lost to MSDs in the UK each year.
“There any number of sites guiding you through the process from “My Computer My Way” to more objective interactive screen fatigue tool-kits but, so long as the victims of sub-optimally calibrated display screens fail to report the debilitating symptoms the longer Screen Fatigue will impair their wellbeing, performance and productivity exacerbating work-related stress,” said Nigel Dupree while speaking on the importance of the Dupree Screen Optimiser.
