The marketing website, Born Realist, has tipped the scales with over five million viewers. When the three students from Forman Christian College of Pakistan began to plan an online marketing venture, they dreamed of having a success story, but the one they are enjoying today far surpasses what they hoped for. The young entrepreneurs have achieved in a very few time what many never do in a lifetime.
“It takes heart to gamble everything you are on a big dream, there is just as much a chance of your work going up in flames and ending up being meaningless as there is of it going down in history,” stated a Born Realist media news platform representative. “And so, because of this fear, most of us are content with our ordinary existence and are happy with our safe yet mundane lifestyles. However, it’s important to understand that everything you’ve always wanted is beyond fear and those who have risen above the fear of losing have achieved great things and more often than not, have come out successful.”
The three college students risked it all to follow their dreams. It all began in a dimly lit college library when CEO Sharoze Kashif, who was working as a freelance video animator, watched a motivational Facebook viral video and was inspired to pursue a new endeavor. He soon shared the idea with his two closest friends, Hasnat Java and Usama Zahid (now the CTO and COO respectively). The three dove in, headfirst.
It was a rocky start, however. Even though they reached over 1 billion people on Facebook during the first 6-7 months, there were no potential investors to the purposed media news site that would offer skilled marketing services as well. But the spirited three plugged on.
Initially, the trio worked from their local KFC, then they went from their local KFC workplace to TechHub Connect and then eventually to their own workplace. Born Realist, within the course of 11 months, were able to support over 20 employees. Today, over seven million viewers have visited the site that offers news, media, and marketing services as well.
The mission of the three young entrepreneurs is to provide more than just a Facebook page but to host a platform that can change lives for the better. They hope to bridge the technical and cultural gap between Pakistan and the rest of the world. How do they plan to do so? Through their ever-expanding international outreach and by becoming the largest viral content production platform.
