Non-profit organization, Martiqua’s Land of Hope, hosts the 2018 edition of its annual “This Is Me” event in May
Martiqua’s Land of Hope is a charity organization established to take care of children with special needs, providing them with education, and empowerment, as well as engaging their families and other such caregivers, while ensuring they have a fun and exciting time together and with others. MLOH as the organization is also called has announced that it will be holding its 4th annual event of “This Is Me” at the Kondo Kennel Property on Saturday, May 5.
Children with special needs have not really gotten the kind of care and attention they need to feel like a part of the community, despite efforts by different charity organizations and other such institutes. Martiqua’s Land of Hope has therefore taken the bold step of putting things in place to ensure these specially-created persons enjoy like any other member of the community. One of such efforts is its annual event organized for children with special needs and their families.
The 2018 edition of the event is to hold at 3022 Butler Road. Columbia, TN 38401(Kondo Kennel Property) on Saturday May 5 at 1 PM – 4 PM. Over the years, the event has been able to put smiles and laughter on the faces and hearts of kids and their families. Plans are already underway to ensure the 2018 edition of the event surpasses the expectations of attendees and participants, providing a life-changing experience for the kids, families, and volunteers.
MLOH was founded by Tenesha Braden, the mother of Martiqua, who was born with Cytomelovirus (CMV). Martiqua cannot care for herself as she is physically and mentally handicapped. The virus delayed her walking and talking and she uses a wheelchair for transportation. However, Martiqua is healthy overall and loves the outdoors.
The goal of MLOH is to educate, empower, and engage families with children with special needs while providing entertainment for the whole family through “THE MIRACLE PARK.”
LAND OF HOPE is a place for kids with disabilities, where they and their family can enjoy themselves. MLOH is designed to be a place of Hope, Love, Peace and Joy, creating an experience these kids and their families may never have.
Land Of Hope will be a refreshing adventure for families to know that they are not alone, leaving them with long-lasting memories and a priceless smile. MLOH hopes to let families and kids with special needs know that dreams do come true, but most importantly, that they are loved by God and people around them.
Disabled kids will experience adventure and fun. Parents will enjoy seeing their child/children riding rides, water-play, games and much more.
