Sydney, Australia – GOLD SCOUT is launching their luxury picnic rug on the popular crowd funding platform, Kickstarter on March 13th, 2018.
Created with quality and sustainability in mind, the LUX Picnic Rug isn’t like your average plaid throw. Most picnic rugs are made of nylon and polyester, the LUX Picnic Rug however is designed to look and feel like a luxury Persian carpet while made of recycled polyethylene terephthalate (RPET), a material with an almost 90% lower carbon footprint than its counterparts.
Gold Scout Founder and Creative Director, Kate Jackson, was inspired to produce a product that would not only help in her mission of creating a greener future but one of quality and design, “I want to create a movement where quality and design isn’t compromised by our desire to preserve”. Jackson believes just because you’re sustainably minded doesn’t mean you have to give up on style.
Despite its good looks, the LUX Picnic Rug was built for the outdoors. Lightweight and easy to transport, it comes with a vegan-friendly cork harness and adjustable shoulder strap. The soft textured, sublimation printed, water resistant top layer is bonded to a hardwearing, waterproof base with the added benefit of internal padding.
Measuring 1.4m x 2m, there’s enough room to fit you and your tribe. Available in 3 different designs and a total of 5 colours, the LUX Picnic Rug retails at $220 AUSD.
While campaigning to raise capital to place their first order, this will be the only opportunity to get your hands on the LUX Picnic Rug at a heavily discounted price. You’ll want to be sure to pledge because Kickstarter is an ‘all or nothing’ crowd funding site. GOLD SCOUT will need to meet their minimum goal of $60,000 to receive their funds, fulfil the orders placed and get this rug off the ground and into people’s hands.
About GOLD SCOUT
Founder and Creative Director, Kate Jackson believes getting our nature fix can bring greater joy and wellbeing to our lives and maybe even inspire us to become more active in environmental issues “If we all spent a little more time outdoors appreciating our natural world, we’d surely have a happier and healthier community and maybe a cleaner one too”.
Kate’s passion for the natural world and the devastating effects of climate change has motivated her to use materials that address the problem and produce products that can inspire in more ways than one, “I love telling people the LUX Rug is made of recycled plastic bottles; people don’t expect luxury products to be ecofriendly”.
