Jennifer Parkhouse Launches StartSomeGood Campaign to Develop CBT Anxiety Helper App

A large portion of the population suffers from anxiety and other phobias or illnesses which can be treated using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Jennifer Parkhouse is developing a free-to-use app to allow individual treatment using CBT.

The Problem:

According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), over 40 million American adults age 18 or over, suffer from anxiety.  This is almost 20% of the entire population. These individuals and others with mental illnesses such as depression or phobias can be treated successfully with CBT, yet only a small fraction of the population seeks treatment due to factors such as uninsured costs or embarrassment.

The Solution:

The CBT app aids anyone suffering from anxiety or other mental health issues by helping individuals cope with panic attacks, breaking down large goals into more manageable small steps, and keeping track of goal progress and any medications.  All of this information is conveniently displayed on the in-app calendar at no cost while maintaining privacy.

Located on the web at https://startsomegood.com/cognitive-behaviour-therapy-for-anxiety-app, pledge levels are at the $50, $75, and $100 levels.

  • $50 – Rockstar – Receive a personalized thank-you card from the developer.

  • $100 – The Shooting Star – Have your name added to the app recognition page under the “Shooting Star” status as well as a personalized thank-you card from the developer.
