Americans For Equal Shared Parenting Organizes DC Rally, “Capital for Kids” on May 20th

Mark Ludwig meeting with leaders in Washington DC
Americans for Equal Shared Parenting (AFESP) is an organization which focuses on a child’s right to equal access to both of their fit, willing and able parents after divorce or separation. Leaders from across the country will gather in our Nation’s Capitol on May 20th, 2018, to share ideas for raising awareness and working together to pass shared parenting legislation in all 50 states.

St. Louis, MS – This May, Americans for Equal Shared Parenting (AFESP) will be hosting their first-ever Major National Shared Parenting Event in Washington DC. The event will bring together leaders from over 20 different states who have worked to bring about shared parenting legislation in their state or region, as well as, organizers and advocates from over 30 different parenting organizations.   The goal is to educate, empower and enable people from across the country on strategies and techniques to raise awareness for passing legislation in all 50 states.

“Over 55 studies and 110 of the world’s leading experts agree that shared parenting is truly in the best interest of the child,” says AFESP Director and Founder Mark Ludwig. “Every night in America, over 24 million children go to bed without having seen their non-custodial parent.  Society is paying too high of a price for this.  Studies have shown that growing up without the active involvement from one of their parents has been shown to have dramatic increased rates in teen pregnancy, behavioral problems, incarceration rates, drug addiction and suicide.  This is about children and what is best for their future.”

Ludwig is a parental rights advocate, grassroots organizer and speaker who has worked directly on legislation in 17 states. In addition to his advocacy work, he has served on the Missouri Chamber & Industry Small Business Policy Council and the Board of Directors for numerous political and philanthropic organizations.  It is his belief that real change happens when people work together.  He has always sought to work with compatible groups and those that share in his pro-child mission. His advocacy and persistence has led to the AFESP gaining over 15,000 members in just the first 10 months and his FB Live presentations have been viewed over 3 million times.

“The success of these FB Live presentations and AFESP really has nothing to do with me,” says Ludwig. “It has to do with the fact that across America, people are realizing that this is an idea whose time has come.”

The event will be on Sunday, May 20th at the Holiday Inn, Old Town Alexandria from 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm.  It is open to the public, but tickets must be purchased in advance.  Tickets can be purchased through the website
