MARINA DEL REY, California – April 27, 2018 – #1 ranked Amazon author Shawn Anderson knows what it takes to turn goals into reality. This six-time author, lifetime entrepreneur, and creator of Extra Mile Day doesn’t just dream life; he does it. As Anderson prepares for the release of his 7th book in May 2018, The Four Fibs, he shares the secrets that have helped him live the life he envisions.
“If we passionately believe in our dreams, then we do ourselves a major disservice by not going after them every day,” Anderson shares. “We each have the power to turn what we want into what we experience. If there is a inspiring goal hiding inside you that you wish to live, then take massive action in going for it.”
Anderson, who has walked border to border across Spain, Portugal, England, Ireland and 750 miles around Shikoku, Japan, and has also pedaled a bike solo ocean-to-ocean across the United States twice, insists that nothing can stop the combination of heart and action. He reveals the three secrets that empower him to carry his biggest goals to the finish line:
First, Anderson says it is key to believe in yourself. “Believe in you. Believe in your dreams. And then believe that inside you is the power to make those dreams come true. Ignore those who say your dreams are impossible or ridiculous. Learn from days of failure and rejection what isn’t working and keep tweaking your plan. Always do I believe, ‘I got this!’”
Second, Anderson shares, “Never forget you are the cue ball. When the cue ball goes into motion, the other balls on the pool table go into motion, too. If you hear ‘no’ once, twice or ten times, don’t let it stop you. Knock the cue ball again…and again. Assume from the beginning that it will take the cue ball being set into motion 100 times in order to eventually succeed. The more we put ourselves into motion and keep taking massive action, the richer our results will be.”
Third, Anderson says, “Keep sharpening your ax. Hearing ‘no’ dulls our confidence, and the duller we get, the duller our results become. It’s up to us to keep ourselves sharp. We need to exercise daily, read empowering books, and hang out with people who inspire us.”
The author of former #1 Amazon ebook – A Better Life: An Inspiring Story About Starting Over, Anderson is also the creator of “Extra Mile Day” – a day recognizing the capacity we each have to create positive change when we go the extra mile. On November 1, 2017, 527 cities made the declaration and recognized those in their local communities who were going the extra mile in volunteerism and service.
