TargetWriters.com is officially opening its doors online for freelancers across the world. The launch will now allow companies to hire freelancers to complete projects. After running a successful beta test in early 2017 with over 1300 freelancers registered, the time has come to make the site live.
TargetWriters is a freelance website that works on a project bidding model. Once an individual or company posts a project, freelancers can then start bidding on it. This means the employer could have a variety of options to choose from, based off of skill and price.
What makes TargetWriters competitive against other freelance websites is it is meant specifically for writers of any niche. Other freelance websites cater to all freelance industries resulting in a site not well focused for hiring writers. TargetWriters removes any clutter by narrowing down its market to explicitly writing.
“Pretty much every online company needs content writing services, but usually not enough to employ a full time staff writer. So companies usually turn to hiring freelance writers. Unfortunately it can be very cumbersome to hire writers via most websites. We wanted to offer a solution that made the process easier for writers and for companies hiring writers.” says TargetWriters founder Jeremy Biberdorf.
A study commissioned by Freelancers Union and Elance-oDesk in 2014 found that over 53 million people work within the freelance world. That number is for just the United States. That number will likely keep growing as the findings of the study showed the demand for freelance work is on the rise.
But with the rise of freelance workers and the demand for their skills, so too we see a spike in companies creating ways to connect workers and employers. This list of online freelance companies is quite extensive, so how can TargetWriters make their way to the top?
“What sets us apart is that as a smaller company we have the flexibility to offer lower fees and that we only focus on hiring writers. Freelance companies that support every possible industry sacrifice on the specific needs of each individual industry. You won’t get programmers or designers bidding on your project. You’ll only get bids from quality writers and with the tools necessary to choose the best writer for your project.”
Probably the most significant appeal of TargetWriters is the narrowing down on the type of freelancers one will find – only writers. Not only that, their administrative fees will be significantly lower compared to other sites.
In the spring of 2017, FreelanceWriting.com ran a survey called “The State of Freelance Writing, 2017.” Their findings showed the majority of freelance writers (65.05 percent) earned $10,000 a year, sometimes less. Only 2.72 percent made over $50,000 a year.
The same study found trying to find enough work (69.12 percent) to be the most difficult problem as a freelance writer. How TargetWriters plans to help that struggle is by email notifications. Writers will be able to get notified when a job is posted that matches their skills available, giving them a better chance of bidding for work.
