John Hayes, Vice-President of Sales and Logistics for Vecna Robotics, was interviewed during MODEX 2018 and featured recently in Industrial Sage. During the interview Hayes highlighted Vecna’s Tote Retrieval System (TRS).
Hayes shared, “Just this year Vecna won the DHL & Dell Robotics Mobile Picking Challenge. The challenge required a mobile robot capable of navigating traditional warehouse shelves and picking boxes and totes. Vecna Robotics’ TRS was not only able to successfully pick the boxes from different levels of the shelf but also was able to place the boxes and totes on its autonomous RC20 Conveyer (20kg) mobile robot.”
The TRS is a highly dynamic, fully autonomous storage and retrieval system providing significant cost savings and substantial benefits over other AS/RS systems. The TRS can pick from conveyors, standard shelving, carts and mobile robots while navigating down narrow aisles to offer higher efficiency and improved throughput. The TRS places and retrieves totes, cases, and bins for order fulfillment, lineside replenishment, and numerous other tasks.
This system can autonomously navigate and reroutes around obstacles, multi-level safety architecture; works collaboratively with people and robots; has a scalable, cost-effective design; and is easy deployment & infrastructure-free. Vecna Robotics next generation logistics and material handling fleet is WMS/WCS ready and delivers breakthrough performance, affordability and a rapid payback period.
