Through dedication, leadership and foresight, Sulimon has always been a visionary in the high-fashion space. In 2007, he transformed a Brooklyn restaurant’s basement into an exhibition space, naming it Gallery La La; there he managed and sold work by local visual artists. After the restaurant closed, Sulimon continued to use the name for popup events, which represented an exclusive group of fashion designers as well as visual artists. By 2013, Sulimon had acquired a storefront building in New York’s SoHo neighborhood; to create a boutique gallery. After recognizing the industry shift to digital experiences and online shopping, Sulimon closed his SoHo store and is putting all of his focus into the next explosive chapter for Gallery La La.

The primary difference between us Gallery La La and renowned platforms such as Etsy (1.4 million sellers) and Saatchi Art (65,000 sellers), is that Gallery La La meticulously selects who they represent and which pieces within each artist’s collection to feature. The process is incredibly thoughtful, with in-person quality control checks to be sure that the products selected are truly extraordinary.

Gallery La La competitors have no control over who and what is sold on their websites. By playing to the numbers game, they are able to charge a smaller commission than Gallery La La, but they do not enable everyone on their platforms to earn a respectable commission from their creations. Their sellers still have to invest in promoting themselves to see even the most modest revenue. Gallery La La is creating a mutually-beneficial experience for the artists and the consumers.
