Los Angeles, CA – Award-winning travel and fine art photographer Lorne Resnick has announced an opportunity for lovers of travel photography and Cuba (and its red hot music) to help him publish his new museum-quality coffee table multimedia photo book titled Cuba – This Moment, Exactly So. Now on Kickstarter at: ThisCuba.com, the book will be a completely unique perspective of the island that Resnick has visited more than 50 times over the last 18 years.
Resnick, a multiple award winner for his commercial and fine art work (including the coveted Travel Photographer of the Year award), currently has eleven fine art posters published of his travel work. His images have been exhibited in galleries across Europe and America and have been used commercially for annual reports, billboards, television, web sites and for worldwide advertising campaigns.
“If the Kickstarter campaign is successful, the book will be published in three museum quality editions, each featuring 300 pages and over 250 color and B&W photographs,” adds Resnick. “The two premium editions will also include three CDs of the hottest authentic Cuban music. All editions of the book will feature stories by the two-time Pulitzer Prize nominated author Brian Andreas, along with essays by National Geographic writer Christopher P. Baker and acclaimed travel writer Pico Iyer.”
In order to publish his book, Resnick chose to utilize Kickstarter, a website that brings together artists and individuals who are willing to help finance creative projects. People who financially contribute (pledge) to his Kickstarter project will receive rewards ranging from signed, discounted editions of the book, to more personalized experiences, including the chance to travel and learn photography with him in Cuba.
“It’s definitely a win-win situation,” says Resnick. “Supporters get unprecedented discounts before the book is printed as well as gifts and other rewards for their support. Kickstarter allows me to bring this book to life at a level impossible through traditional publishing.”
The book publication depends on the Kickstarter project reaching its full funding goal by November 21 (6PM PST), the funding deadline. He has raised more than 50% so far; however, Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing platform and the book will only be made if the project reaches its full funding goal. Additionally, Kickstarter is a no-risk platform, so supporters never get charged if the funding goal is not reached.
Go to ThisCuba.com now to see photos and videos as the campaign enters its final few days.
“If you have a lover of photography, music or Cuba in your life, this book would make a unique and memorable gift,” Resnick adds.
